4. Third-Party Services
4.1 Firebase (Google)
We use Firebase for:
Authentication — phone number verification (Firebase Auth)
Database — Firestore stores all user data, messages, marketplace listings
Storage — Firebase Storage for profile photos and images
AI chat features are powered by Google Gemini through a server-side Cloud Function. Messages you send to the AI assistant are forwarded to Gemini's API for processing. We do not store AI conversation logs beyond what is necessary for functionality.
4.3 Google Play Services
The App uses Google Play Services for push notifications and in-app updates.
5. Data Storage and Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (Firestore encryption)
Authentication tokens are stored securely on-device
We implement Firestore Security Rules to restrict access based on user identity and group membership
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data
6. Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your account and associated data at any time from App Settings
Group messages are retained until the group is deleted or the message is removed by the sender or an admin
Marketplace listings are retained until removed by the poster or an admin
Backup copies may persist in Firebase for up to 30 days after deletion
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)
Child IQ is an app designed for parents and caregivers to manage their children's developmental data. We comply with:
COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act): We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. All child-related data is provided by the parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately.
GDPR-K: For users in the European Union, parental consent is required for processing children's data.
